Exodus 25:1-2. And Hashem spoke to Moses, saying, 'Speak to the children of Yisrael that they bring Me an offering, of every man whose heart prompts him. (II Samuel 7:23). They wanted Him and were attached to Him, as it says, "For Yah has chosen Jacob to Himself" and, "For Hashem's portion is His people" (Deuteronomy 32:9). 1. One who knows to unify the Holy Name sustains [the nation which is] unique in the world, as it is written: And who is like Your nation Israel, a unique nation on earth? (II Sam. 7:23).

This is like that which we have taught. For from eight days²The reference is to circumcision, which is performed on the eighth day of life. Israel clings to Him through His Name and they are His, called by His Name below, as it is written, And who is like Your people, Israel, a unique nation on earth?’ (II Sam. 7:23, I Chron. 17:21).
